Kate Minus 8 at Bonefish Grill
Yesterday morning, while I worked on the nutrition curriculum for the state of NC , I had the Today show playing in the background. Well blogland, there was a segment on Kate Gosselin getting a “makeover” of sorts with extensions in her hair. I think it must have been all of the halloween costumes of “Kate hair” that encouraged this makeover.
Anyhow, I thought to myself ” If I ever met her in real life, I would want to say so many things. I think that she is inspiring because of her strength to be a mom to 8 children and she is strong everyday for those children despite her husband (turning into a jerk) peacing out. If she can be strong for 8 other mini-humans in the face of divorce, I can be strong too”..
Someone “up there” must be playing a trick on me because you will never believe who walked into my work after 9 pm yesterday. Yes, Kate Gosselin with her extensions curled and British Bodyguard at side!!!!
Seriously? I smiled and she looked at me as if she was prepared for me to start squealing or asking for an autograph, but I sat her at a booth and calmly told the server she was there. I just felt in awe that I had thought about meeting her in real life that morning and it was actually happening that evening.
Most marriages end in divorce but I doubt Kate, or anyone that gets divorced for that matter, thought it would happen to them. Divorce is not the end of the world though it may seem like it; It may seem like there is nowhere else to go but there is. You just have to have hope, faith, love, and keep Splashing Forward!
