Body Mind Soul: Splashing Toward Spring
It’s been awhile since one of these posts!
Body:
Today I ran a 5 mile Sandwich.
I decided to “sandwich” resistance training in between running at the apartment gym today. I ran 2 miles before and 3 miles after strength moves for biceps, back, and quads. For the resistance, I did leg extensions, jillian micheals’ style bicep curls with lunges, bar raises for biceps and lateral pulldowns for back.
Felt fantastic! I am increasing my strength training now so that I can better prepare myself for my marathon this year!
I Love Yoga! I do yoga every morning in my apartment and it is just the best way to start your day!
Mind:
Spring Semester has started!! Christmas came and went as always! I like to have “closure” so I am super excited for the second half of many of my courses from this past Fall.
Here is my schedule:
-Thesis Hours (no more planning, I am officially taking hours and finishing this Master’s Degree!!)
-Medical Nutrition Therapy Part 2
-Colloquium
-Lifecyle Nutrition, Part 2
-Teaching Assistant for Advance Nutrient Metabolism. I LOVED metabolism pathways and am really excited to be an assistant for this course. I am also going to help with tutoring and guiding discussions for undergrads in the course!
- Nutrition Education and Counseling Course ( We are learning how to teach using motivational techniques, something I am already familiar with from my teaching after college)
- Microbiology Lab
-Practicum Experience! We have the option of doing a thesis or a non-thesis Master’s and I am fortunate enough to be doing both! Although, I am getting paid for my experience updating Nutrition Curriculum- I am thankful for the practical experience in the field!
Soul:
Reminding myself to keep Splashing Forward.
Keeping the people in and from Haiti in my prayers.
Going to see my sister this weekend!!!! so PUMPED!
