Vega Whole Food Vibrancy Bar
Kelly over at Vega (Sequels Naturals) had me thrilled about their new line of whole food bars, “Vibrancy”. They are similar to the line of SuperFood bars that Amazing Grass makes but these are not covered in chocolate.
That said, they taste as you would expect if you ever had an Amazing Grass Superfood Bar, only just a bit better! They aren’t quite as “green”, “healthy”, “cardboard” tasting as the AG superfoods; Vega Vibrancy have a little more flavor. Make no mistake, this is a superfood bar, not a snickers!! It isn’t going to taste like a Nature Valley Granola Bar for those that have not tried AG bars before.
They are fruit and nut based, so they are soft and chewy in mouthfeel with a slight sweetness, and a slight crunch to the texture. I find the claim on the wrapper to be true, “A sumptuous celebration of plant-based superfoods” in all two of the three flavors Green Synergy, Wholesome Original. The third flavor, Chocolate Decadence, just didn’t meet that whole “sumptuous celebration” part.
Unfortunately, the Chocolate Decadence was not as great as I was hoping ( Sorry Kelly, just being honest!). I think for the chocolate decadence, a better bar would have been the Wholesome Original or Green Synergy covered in chocolate. That to me would be more “decadent”. The flavor and texture was similar to the other two but it had this added “chocolate” flavor that seemed odd, just didn’t meet my expectations for what chocolate should taste like.
I couldn’t seem to find a difference between the Green Synergy and the Wholesome Original though. I liked both of them equally in flavor, texture, and mouthfeel. So now on to the nutritionals:
