Welcome Home!

by bhealthy on June 10, 2011

I am still moving in to the new place and haven’t really settled in yet. It has been such a busy week with moving all of the furniture, lamps, tables, beds, etc. etc. etc. Moving can be so stressful but I find it almost reviving. The change inspires me to rid all the crap out of my life that I was hanging onto because I’d rather get rid of it than move it. It makes the important items stand out more and less important seem easier to move on without.

With moving, I have been eating out nearly all week! I have saved half for dinners or lunches the following day to save money and my waistline. I also have choosen healthy options, like this salad with roasted red peppers, green beans, and tuna medallions (dressing on the side!)

Buku has some fantastic lunch options and it is also restaurant week here. I loved this soup, it had cumin, cilantro, a hint of red chile, pulled pork and tiny potatoes.

I would love to show you a sneak peak of my new place, especially where I hope to start cooking my own (healthier) meals soon! The kitchen is the nicest kitchen in an apartment I think I have ever seen…

The laundry is off to the side of the kitchen and there is a built in desk area as well, which I like for blogging!

The island reminds me of a kitchen demo table and I’m hoping to do some vlogs/video demos in this place. My favorite new purchase is…

I love the single serve brewers, even though they are more expensive than necessary. The thing is, I really just like one mug in the morning and it is much easier to use a K-cup! Plus I can have a variety of different coffee rather than just sticking to one flavor at a time.

The rest of my things are in the intermediate stage… Bedroom, clothes, etc.

I will be organizing over the weekend and getting in some beach time so I will post monday with my progress!

What are your weekend plans?

What helps you stay sane when you are moving into a new place?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Ow- that soup looks yummy! And what a great kitchen! Having the desk right there will definitely make the cooking/blogging combo much easier! Up to this weekend? Time with family and friends and teaching. Otherwise? Hoping to get in some sun. Lists keep me sane when I move

Lot of bench space in the kitchen, great for working while standing up.

Even though it can be stressful, I take solace in the fact that it’s going to be great to just sit and “be” in your new place!

I am dying over your kitchen! It’s so gorgeous and roomy! It makes me hate tiny NYC kitchens even more! I think what keeps me sane over moving is decorating and organizing, which I kind of love. Good luck!
