Movin on up

by bhealthy on June 14, 2011

“to the east side, finally got a piece of the pie”…..Okay, no pie here and I moved to the north side of the city but ah well, the song is fun. I think I’ve done well this weekend…

(its okay if you want to see the last picture - its here). I’ve been here for exactly one week and I feel like I have room to walk around so that is a start! I did not get in beach time but certainly pool time! I met a ton of new people and already have a new running partner from said pool, a new p90x partner, and several fun memories from this week! I did get a ton of things put away and at least somewhat organized! My closet will take some time…
Day 4

Day 7

I admittedly have a ton of clothes but I immediately put work tops on one side, casual tops below, and pants, dresses on the other side for sanity reasons so that I could go into the office looking halfway normal!  The bathroom theme will be white and black…

And we have a courtyard view!

There are grills too! I can’t wait to have a housewarming party!

Food has been easy and minimal prep still! Breakfast was organic medjool dates with almond butter, coffee and a mini mango smoothie! Lunch was egg salad sandwich and dinner tonight was salad (organic spring mix, feta, mushrooms, light vidalia dressing) and half a mini bagel with cream cheese…

I haven’t been in the swing of things with cooking! I have started Insanity DVD workouts though and I was really excited. It is a solid workout, especially for a dvd! It was only 45 minutes and I did the plyometric/ cardio from week 1. Not super difficult in my opinion but so happy I did it.

I’m trying the next dvd tomorrow since I worked out at the gym on my lunch hour!

What kind of recipe should I make to “break in” my new kitchen?

Always feels so good to get settled and get things put away! I like the black and white theme in the bathroom. hmmm I think I would break in the kitchen with baking ;) Cooking wise, maybe a nice pasta or grainy bake (that makes lots of leftovers!!- my fav)

It is looking so beautiful and organized!  Love the sun shining in the courtyard.  Have a good day :)

Love the courtyard. Your place looks so nice!
The one good thing about moving is getting organized.  I have been trying to get rid of stuff even though I’m not moving. :)

aww, what a cute place! I’m super jealous. There’s a summery potato salad recipe on Smitten Kitchen that sounds delicious – try that one! (and report back – I want to make it!)

Love your courtyard! Congrats on your move-in!

The new place looks great!  You’ll love have that grill set up downstairs.  Hmm…as for breaking in your new kitchen it’s gotta be a tried and true favorite.  You don’t want your first big cooking experience to be a experiment that doesn’t turn out right.  Might give you a cooking complex! :)

Oh, and I use http://www.picnik.com to do those collage photos.  I don’t have the premium, just the free service and I think it has plenty of options.  Let me know if you need anything else!

Your move reminds me of some of mine in my career.  I see you are very near my home state of Virginia.  Love you kitchen!  I never had an apartment kitchen like that.  My apartment in D.C. had pink metal kitchen cabinets!!  Thanks for stopping by.

    Best,
    Bonnie

It sounds like you’ve settled right in! I’m so glad you’ve already found new friends. They’ll make the transition easier. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary
