Working Out Wednesday

by bhealthy on June 22, 2011

Last week I started a work out recap post and kept up with the promise of posting again this week!  This past week I really feel like I kept challenging my body! I can get very repetitive with my exercise if I don’t pay attention, I will just run 3-4 times a week.  My knees won’t hold that up for very long though. Maybe it was from the years of pounding in triple jump through high school and college track. It makes me appreciate yoga and strength training because it balances my running out and makes me stronger!

Here is how my workouts have been (or will be) shaping up this week:

(6-17)Friday: Rest
Saturday:
10 mile run ( 74 minutes 20 seconds) Overall Pace: 7:04 min/mile. Overall Feeling: AWESOME! I have to check but I think that is a PR !
Sunday: Rest!
Monday: Insanity (Pure Cardio) after work. It was short but effective!
Tuesday: Hot Yoga/Bikram ( 90 minutes )
Wednesday: 100 Workout (see below) or Insanity (Plyo)
Thursday: Salsa Dancing!!
(6-24) Friday: Long Run ~ 10-12 miles
Saturday/Sunday:
Visiting my sister in DC! Probably resting but her gym is really nice, so we’ll see!

Last week I felt like I finally had a routine but this week I have had so many other things going on (like a haircut on Monday at lunch and dinner out with friends, etc.). Being flexible (literally and metaphorically) is important in being healthier for me! Since I’ve had a little bit longer and more intense workouts this week, I feel great about resting this weekend. I also feel great because I have organized and moved somethings around the apartment!!! Check out my room:

New towels…

I love black and white! It’s the absence of color and the presence of all colors. It’s classic, simple, but contrasting and complex. Kind of how I think of myself.

What do you think!?!

What was your favorite workout this week ?

I am excited to try this 100 Workout that I saw Swanky Dietitian post about! I bet its a really good strength workout and it requires nothing but you & space !

You are so speedy! I wish we lived closer so we could run together and you could get me up to your pace ;) . Both your room and the bathroom look awesome. As I told you before- I <3 black and white. My FAVORITE workout this week? I jogged and taught pump Monday and just felt very in the zone!

Thanks for the shout out!  You definitely feel the burn when you do this workout!  It’s great to change up things.  Can’t wait to hear what you think!
I just love organizing! I always feel much better when my house is cleaned and organized.

I love black and white as well – classic and clean but interesting. Nice running this week – and a super speedy 10 miler! My favorite workout this week has just been some easy 7 milers in the park and a great vinyasa class last night.

I love this work out! Seems like a workout I’d really enjoy. Favorite workout this week was an 11 mile run on the treadmill. It felt like I was in the groove and I just really enjoyed it :-)
