Tastemaker: Simply Dressed Caesar says…
A must-try for Monday!

As part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I recently received a coupon for Marzetti Simply Dressed Salad Dressing to share my thoughts with the blog community.
I am very picky with the taste and quality of salad dressings. Marzetti, Foodbuzz- You picked the right tastemaker! I was more than excited to test Marzetti Simply Dressed because I test dressings on my own all the time. My fridge currently has 8 bottles that are 3/4 full of various competitor dressings. Light vidalia onion, 2 balsamic vinaigrettes, roasted red pepper, goddess tahini, blue cheese, italian, and red wine vinaigrette. Simply Dressed Caesar makes #9.
I used to give dressings the benefit of the doubt in the store, especially if its bogo or on sale. I’ve found that the dressings marketed as “better for you” by being fat-free often taste like chemicals more than anything. Not sure about you but I prefer salads chemical free first as opposed to fat free. Full fat usually has better flavor but usually a random ingredient list and poor nutrition.
What’s a girl to do ? Try Marzetti Simply Dressed!
Marzetti Simply Dressed does not contain any preservatives, trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, MSG or artificial flavors or colors. It is made with a minimal number of all-natural ingredients- extra virgin olive oil, canola oil, sea salt. If you think about it, salad dressings from scratch require minimal ingredients anyway…Olive oil + vinegar = Vinaigrette dressing; Honey + mustard = Honey Mustard Dressing.
I’ve yet to master Caesar dressing from home so I decided to give Marzetti the tastemaker test with their Caesar. The Simply Dressed Caesar ingredients include: CANOLA OIL, RED WINE VINEGAR, PARMESAN AND ROMANO CHEESE (PART SKIM MILK, CHEESE CULTURE, SALT, ENZYMES), EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, SALTED EGG YOLK, SUGAR; DISTILLED VINEGAR, SEA SALT, DEHYDRATED GARLIC, SPICE, MUSTARD SEED, XANTHAN GUM, NATURAL FLAVOR, and ANCHOVIES.
Making myself an easy, simple, simply dressed Caesar for Sunday dinner, I used rotissiere chicken, organic romaine leaves, avacado and Simply Dressed Caesar dressing. It was fabulous! I ate each leaf like this:

The dressing was spicy and flavorful, rich and delicious. I’d definitely be more inclined to purchase Simply Dressed in the future now having had the chance to try it out. Thanks to Foodbuzz and Marzetti Simply Dressed for the opportunity. You can go online and print out your own coupon here! In addition, the Simply Dressed line are on sale right now at Harris Teeter with a coupon in-store for $1 off.
Any extreme coupon-ers out there?!
