WOW and WIAW #2

by bhealthy on October 18, 2011

Wow, its another WIAW and WOW all in one wonderful post this week.

Half Marathon Training Update…

  • Week 10 ( 24 miles total) PR 13.1 miles – 1 hr 26 minutes
  • Week 11 ( 14 miles total) a 10 miler and a 4 miler
  • Week 12 ( 16.1 miles total) a 5 miler, a 3 miler, and a 8.1 miler
  • Week 13 ( 24 miles total) an 11 mile… 7 outside, 4 inside… dehydrated and pulling teeth….a 13.1 miler, 1 hr 36 minutes… easy breezy

This week was a “not fun, knees hurting, body tired, blah” kinda week. I was psyched for my long run on Saturday but unfortunately, forgot to hydrate properly. I know enough to know that you don’t mess around with hydration- I knew very early on my mistake and ended up turning around. Good thing I found a water fountain after looping back at a park ~ mile 5~ phew. Saturday evening and Sunday I still felt terrible but I am hoping that rest, ice, and hydration will get me back in the action.

WOW

I had to finish my lecture for upcoming weeks since I’m finally ahead of the game. I ended up running inside to save time Tuesday evening. It was probably best because it rained and gets dark so early AND …I’m fearful of getting injured this close to the race based on how I’m feeling lately.

On to the eats…

I loved hearing about everyone’s worst eats of the week last week – keep em coming! Here’s what I chowed on:
dscn2561Pumpkin Spice Coffee…. AND Cafe Mocha …

dscn2560

dscn2549

Ugh…I hate those runs where everything hurts and you just have to suffer through it.  The good news is you feel great when you are finished!  The best thing I ate this week was a shrimp taco from the farmer’s market on Saturday…so fresh and delicious.

mmmm, I made pumpkin bread this week too, I can’t get enough! I also ate some of those same sweet potato chips.  I am in love with them.
The best thing I ate this week was a bacon wrapped scallop from our demo kitchen.  It was some of the best, thick bacon and flavorful scallop combination I’ve ever tasted!
