WOW and WIAW #3

by bhealthy on October 26, 2011

Wow, time flies.  Officially registered for the Half Marathon…. knock on wood, cross my fingers, say my prayers..

Training Update… The PR I hit on Week 10 ( 24 miles total) of 13.1 miles in 1 hr 26 minutes feels like a distant memory!

This week I rested, well, I refrained from any formal exercise. I walked …a lot… I rode in a car … a lot…. I slept… a lot.

I had fun while doing all that though! So here is the plan for this next week:

Tuesday Oct. 25- Shoulders and Triceps, Elliptical 20 minutes
Wednesday Oct. 26- Rest!
Thursday Oct. 27 – Race course run (6-7 miles ish) with sprints
Friday Oct. 28- Hot Yoga
Saturday Oct. 29- Elliptical, Back, Biceps, Quads, Abs
Sunday Oct. 30- Rest and recover
Monday Oct. 31- Halloween! Hot Yoga ? Cross Train ? Not sure yet…

Here are some seriously good eats for WIAW, which I should probably use another, new acronym WDINE…What did I not eat…

Grilled Veg… but watch out below Vegetarians….

A Pair of Ribs, 1/2 Hamburger, No sausage for this gal

Mini Ham and Cheese Sammies

My  favorite…

Veggies and…. Buffalo Mac N Cheese (Recipe courtesy of Itzy’s Kitchen)

Then there was dessert…

The menu for this was created by the boyfriend, though I had a hand in planning, I have to give credit where credit is due!!

What is the best or worst thing you ate this week?

Despite the travel, sounds like you had a week of relaxation from training and good eats. The buffalo chicken and ribs look very tasty and how can one go wrong with grilled veggies!? One of my favorites for sure!… speaking of running half or full marathons, what would be your ideal running conditions for the upcoming race?

Everything looks outstanding!!  Especially the meat (haha, sorry vegetarians, again!).  Although that dessert plate looks very tempting…and speaking of desserts, the best thing I ate this weekend was a wedding cupcake (two of them, actually).

hooray for registering for the race! I love the compilation of different desserts. Nom. I’ve been eating boring things this week, but maybe the mini cupcakes we had at work have been the best. or beets. Does that even count? hehe
